Èmbùj̼āb Se (/ˈɛmbʊ/ /j̼əˑb/ [experiment] [sole; lone]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Lorholt Dutchy, Ftiríhwèsag Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Èmbùj̼āb Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Èmbùj̼āb Se was founded by Llŷr Griffiths, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Èmbùj̼āb Se receives an average of 210 cm/y (82 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Èmbùj̼āb Se covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2128 m (6981 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Èmbùj̼āb Se was founded durring the late 12th century in winter of the year 1069, by Llŷr Griffiths. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Èmbùj̼āb Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Èmbùj̼āb Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Èmbùj̼āb Se is buildings are arranged within a network of premissive packed earth streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. Astonishigly, the frontieer-style defences are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Right off the bat Èmbùj̼āb Se hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The new wealth has created some worrying attitudes in many passers by, such that it’s clear new laws have recently been enacted and enforced with such extreme scrutiny the locals seem to be going about their day as if by clockwork.

Civic Infrastructure

Èmbùj̼āb Se has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Èmbùj̼āb Se. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Èmbùj̼āb Se's parks.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Èmbùj̼āb Se.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Èmbùj̼āb Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Èmbùj̼āb Se possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Èmbùj̼āb Se's natural decorations nor waterways.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Èmbùj̼āb Se has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.

Èmbùj̼āb Se's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Èmbùj̼āb Se all of the cats speak in a dead language.

The Nochlean near Èmbùj̼āb Se are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Èmbùj̼āb Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves gestures to channel Chronomancy energies of tier 2 via oath swearing.
